The really weird ones are the ones where I got the interview, didn't hear back, reached out multiple times, STILL didn't hear back, gave up, then 2-3 months later they asked for a second interview.

I'm not denying it happens, it's just not my experience. Maybe it's the field I'm in, but over the past 3 years I applied to literally hundreds of jobs with dozens of interviews and if they emailed me back to say they weren't going with me I was thrilled to get closure.

AI in the form of LLMs does not create new ideas. The way it works is taking what already exists and repackaging it in a way that hopefully resembles the answer to a query it was given.

He's more competent which makes him more dangerous, but I'm not sure he's actually more despicable.

Imagine instead of a vote, they reopened the government in exchange for a half eaten ham sandwich (ignore that the theoretical sandwich actually is more valuable than what they got).
It would be like pointing at the sandwich and saying, "they gave up their position of strength for THAT sandwich?!?"
