Yep, odd how they've gone very quiet on that subject, almost like they only wanted it when it was going to give them a lot more power and influence...

He's angry now because more and more people are realising that he did in fact rile up that crowd and caused the riot.

Sickening number, every single one of them should consider what it means to be a public servant and should immediately resign when they realise just how far they have strayed from what should be the core of a politician's professional life.

Wouldn't surprise me if he got around 90 and thought it was out of 100. Based on his obvious cognitive decline in recent years, I'd be genuinely surprised if he did that well now.

But go ahead, Trump, take an IQ test and post the results. The world is curious.

Reform were all about PR before the polls started showing that under FPTP they were projected to command a majority with a minority of votes. Since then they have been remarkably quiet on the subject.

Just remember, if you do decide to burn the place down, you'll need to do so Caerphilly.

There comes a point where people get fed up with tactical voting and stay looking for how they can change the system to eliminate the need. Labour ignoring their own members over this was definitely a good indication to progressives to look elsewhere.

That's great news - I know I've seen a few discussions prematurely ended because of that custom, hence my initial skepticism.

A good motion, but I expect it will fall foul of the parliamentary custom of not discussing the affairs of the crown.
October 22, 2025 at 1:09 PM
Yep, while pretending that it was a majority that elected them. It's a wholly broken system.

Trouble is, any of the answers could be construed as right.

Yes, Brexit has had a huge negative impact on the economy, but there are other factors at play. So we can rightly say that without Brexit the numbers would be better, but we might still be in something of a state.

In the sense of replacing all the wires with near-identical wires connecting the same terminals. In that sense, I guess he might be correct...
October 21, 2025 at 9:31 AM
That just earned you a block. Congrats, you got what you wanted, you pathetic troll.
October 21, 2025 at 7:21 AM
OK, you clearly aren't interested in an actual discussion, only petty little snipes, so I am not going to be continuing this discussion. Have fun with whatever you choose to do with yourself.

Presumably approach the EU and ask them what the terms would be for our rejoining. Information gathering is always the first step when it comes to deciding a strategy. The steps after that would depend on what the answer was.

They're not sly, he holds Brexit in utter contempt. Rightly so.

Nothing he says suggests that it would be a piece of cake. But no journeys ever start without taking a first step, and you can't make a first step if you won't even admit that a journey is necessary.

I often find myself asking much the same - not because I don't know about politics but because clearly I don't know everything (not even close) about what it takes to build popularity.

Thing is, stunts aren't beneath anyone. We're conditioned to think that people get to a certain level of seniority and have to stop having fun, but that's a myth. I genuinely applaud the fact that he's willing to make a bit of a fool of himself while raising the party's profile.
October 20, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Most policy statements don't.

Now we seem to be in a position where Davey's antics get the party some media attention and the messages can then be shared, either by Davey or one of the senior party leaders.

Would be nice if they could skip the antics and still get attention, but that's not the world we live in.

Trouble is, Lib Dem leaders who just act like what people think of as viable leaders get no coverage. Doesn't matter how many MPs we get, we're still ignored wherever possible by almost every media outlet. No idea why Farage is promoted as much as he is, but we have to play with the hand we're dealt
