The worst part about the boat strikes - regardless of who ordered what and besides the ultimate tragedy of lives lost - is they’re forever a stain on the dignity of the United States military.

That's why the military has the right to refuse illegal orders. Illegal orders could ruin the military.

Spotify is running recruitment ads for ICE.

A platform built to connect creators and listeners is helping an authoritarian regime build up its secret police force.

But we’re not going to idly accept that. We’re going to make Spotify listen: indivisible.org/cancel-spoti... #CancelSpotify

Assuming, as I insist we must, that we are not too broken to heal after Trump et.al., we need 3 Amendments for a "Third Founding" to fix 1) presidential immunity, 2) Citizens United, and 3) Supreme Court lifetime appointments, not necessarily in that order. Will bring us to a more perfect union.

Columbia and Brown’s settlements represent a dangerous capitulation that risks eroding the foundation of higher education.

Harvard must refuse to make a deal with Trump that cedes the university’s autonomy in unconstitutional or unlawful ways.

Tell Harvard not to bow to political pressure. 👇

@scottmcgrew.bsky.social, can you please get NBCBayArea News, when covering FBI assisting the Texas search for Democrat members of its legislature, to add that there is no legal foundation for the FBI to do so? There is no federal crime, which would be required for FBI involvement. Thank you.

Memorial Day thoughts... My dad fought in WWII and suffered ailments from it for the rest of his life. I served in the Army for 7 years and my wife served as well. Our son was a Guardsman deployed to Afghanistan. I have a Veteran friend whose son was killed in action. 🧵

@scottmcgrew.bsky.social - I haven't confirmed it, but I think the effective ban against judicial contempt citations was retained in the passed version of the House bill. Scott, please please highlight the awful implications of this provision, which would neuter our courts. Please!

It's important to recognize that Jewish people are not the Israeli state, and that Palestinians are not Hamas. Israel is failing to make that distinction in Palestine, and I heard an Israeli spokesman declare that the Washington shooting was anti-Semitic vs a heinous act of protest against Israel.

Biden entered office saying his term was "transitional," setting expectations of stepping away after one term. His ego got the better of him and here we are. Schumer risks staying in role when he, too, should step away. He needs the wise humility to recognize he is not the leader for this moment.
