“When looking back on the first few decades of Viking raids one is sometimes put in mind of the twentieth-century US bank robber Willie Sutton being asked why he robbed banks and reportedly replying ‘because that’s where the money is’.”

Given that a bottle costs 0.75 at Colruyt, this 4.20€ for a bottle of water at @brusselsairport.bsky.social is an impressive 460% additional mark-up. I think we’ve reached the price gouging scamming zone. I feel embarrassed to be from Brussels honestly. Let’s fly away lol. 😂

Still ongoing… 1MDB fraud. For anyone looking for a hollywood level story to read… this book from 2018 is still one of the craziest non-fiction books I've ever read. The people behind some of the financing of the movie the wolf of wall street have their own story that is way crazier than the movie.

The balance between capitalism and "the greater good"? Is a middle-of-the-road framework a solution?
"A land-value tax would discourage land hoarding, and the number of properties that can be owned by any single corporate landlord should be limited. Concentration is the enemy of supply."
