Transition from Vrishchikasana to Bakasana. It's fun because a switch from spinal extension to spinal flexion is required mid-air.

Funky Pincha Mayurasana and Sayanasana don't often show up in yoga vinyasa classes.

This flow was a test of strength, focus and discipline. Tapas. The fire was definitely burning - inside and out - and maybe more in the elbows than I might choose.

This transition is a practice in sthira (stability) and sukha (ease). The strength to lift comes from grounding, the control to lower comes from trust.

Balance doesn't come from forced movement. It comes from finding steadiness in the transition, staying present, staying patient.

Pike entry to Bound Headstand is a dance of balance over strength. Control comes from Tapas, dedicated practice and discipline, but lightness comes from Santosha, contentment and trust in the process.

Yoga isn't about mastering a pose. It's mastering the mind that approaches it.

This was today's Sunday morning practice, with some Flying Lizard (Uddayana Uttana Pristhasana) fun.

My message here is to make your practice your own. You know what you need in the moment, you know you, so give yourself permission to listen to yourself and act on what you hear.
