Mountain pose, aka Tadasana, is a foundational standing yoga pose. Stand with your feet together (or slightly apart), your arms at your sides, and your body aligned. It's a common starting point for many other yoga poses and helps with grounding, balance, and posture.

Starting my mornings re-reading The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali to ground myself with a few sutras or threads before meditation, stretches, and setting my intentions to tackle the day.

Building some strength with a few power Yoga moves. Start in Downward Facing Dog, to a Plank, a Chaturanga push-up, lower down to an Upward Facing Dog and back to Downward Facing Dog. Repeat a few times.

Way to go Chokolatté! Note: rubber ball in mouth is optional.

Another fave #Yoga pose is legs-up-the-wall, aka Viparita Karani. This pose has many benefits, including improving circulation, reducing swelling and anxiety while staying calm and relaxed. 

Easy to do: Grab a blanket or pillow, shimmy up to a wall, hold for a few minutes or longer, and breathe.

One of my fave #Yoga poses is the Child's pose (Balsana) - helps reduce stress, stretches the back, amongst other benefits.

Kneel on a mat with knees hip-width apart, and sit back. If you don't reach your heals, grab a pillow. I like to rest my head on a blanket and also stretch out my sides.

Just breathe.

Breathe through your nose deeply and without effort.

Tight quads? Try the Hero pose sitting on a cushion.

Bonus points for a Jnana mudra (seal of wisdom) with thumb and index finger connecting for an added sense of calm. Hold for 5-45 minutes.

Feeling stressed? The heart bench Yin Yoga pose opens the chest and is a good pose to relieve tension and improve posture.

Prop up two blocks in a tee, grab a cushion, lean back and settle in for 4-6 minutes (to start). Breathe, be still, and let gravity work.
