I'm intentionally featuring and referencing terms from modern psychology and neuroscience, as my aim is for the translation to have relevance across domains vs purely philosophical. Mind here is more than "brain" - it represents nervous system with its complexity of interconnections.

Five processes of mind (neurophysiology) are presented. I see a loose mapping to the five brain wave states, suggesting ancient were well aware of different levels of awareness or consciousness.
