i really can't express just how much i love fanfiction. there are so many different kinds of authors and writing styles out there for us to read all for free. we get to enjoy a stranger's insights into fandom for absolutely no cost and get emotionally destroyed in the process. god i love fanfiction.

Once again: DST doesn’t solve the problem of going to/from work in the dark.
Instead, when days get shorter in the fall, we should just shorten the workday by an hour.

I'll add something from my perspective: I'm not a native English speaker, but I write fics in English. in my native language it's not /that/ frowned upon to refer to characters by epithets. so maybe for other non-native English speakers that may be just what they're used to! obviously, +
maybe fanfic-specific, but using epithets to refer to already-introduced characters usually sounds awkward, & it's not for pedantic reasons! it's bc you're usually in someone's pov, and that person is unlikely to think of their friend/love interest/etc as "the other girl" or "the taller one"
if u see this, quote-post with your tips for writers that no one gives anymore because they seem obvious (even though they're not)

oh i probably should switch to storygraph finally.... had one attempt a few years ago and didn't like it but I saw it was updated a lot since then
people who use goodreads: jeff bezos owns goodreads and if you want a better alternative there is a black woman owned company called storygraph that you can use to replace it. you can transfer all of your data from goodreads to storygraph and have your mind be free of trumpie jeff bezos! win win. 💙
