Been working on a nice project with Middlesbrough Council's Neighbourhood Caretakers to give Saltwells Park in my ward a bit of tlc.

The team have repainted the fencing and equipment, as well as tidying the area and cutting back the shrubbery.

It's looking much better!

Great to see the bollards Central ward cllrs requested after residents asked for measures to tackle bad parking, installed on Breckon Hill Rd and Lytton St.

The bollards were paid for with some of our Priorities Fund allocation - an investment of £1750!

Central ward cllrs are also planning to spend some of our ward budget on new equipment. Some of it is missing, other bits need replacing. This plus the makeover should really improve the park for local residents 🛝

A few weeks ago I approached Middlesbrough Council's Neighbourhood team with an idea to makeover Saltwells Park in my ward. They've sprung into action, and on Friday I popped over to see the Neighbourhood Caretakers carrying out the work. Still a lot of work to go but it's already looking better 👌

And then there's their "No More Knives" campaign. Teesside has the third highest level of knife crime in the country. It's a serious issue and needs addressing. But should it be used as a tool to evangelise young people?

Lovely time at Middlesbrough Mela. It's celebrating it's 35th anniversary this year! 🎊

Great food, live entertainment, lots of stalls, and people and cultures coming together 🫂

Great to see so many people coming out to support it.
