Hossam never got to finish college because Israel's genocide derailed all hope of it. He watched students in the US and around the world protest against Israel's genocide, while he was reporting on that very same genocide, and knowing that Israel would likely kill him.
Before this genocide started, I was a young college student studying journalism. Little did I know I would be given one of the hardest jobs in the world: to cover the genocide of my own people. After 193 days, I have lost close to 100 people from friends and family ( that I know of ). I have lost my house the very first day . I have lost about 23 kg (50 pounds), I have lost my city, I have lost myself. It's like that young man once full of life is all gone and I have aged 100 years . I was a third-year college student before this genocide started, but I'll never be able to finish my studies because Israeli occupation forces bombed my university and every other university in Gaza. Thanks to the brave college students who are protesting and advocating for us, we see you and hear you. Don't stop.

The problem is whether or not the institutions set up to solve the first two tasks "do so in a way that tends to instill in the participants a set of moral values and practical incentives that support the continued operation of these same institutions. This test is likely to be failed if democracy is interpreted as centralized and if citizens do not learn practical skills of self-governance but instead come to rely on representative elections"
