"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence."

And these days, it's running amok to the point where it just might bankrupt us all.

These folks out here trying to replace human endeavor with ML/AI are learning what a mistake that is && I'm here for that.

Because they're learning that unchecked, it creates more problems than it solves...
November 16, 2025 at 9:35 PM
When I'm out here in these liminal && Meat Space streets, it adds little value to whatever it is my human self is doing.

More often than not, it is a distraction or it interferes with what I'm trying to accomplish...

Or it is expensive in terms of time, materials, and/or cost.

In its current iteration, ML/AI is invasive && creepy beyond Uncanny Valley.

At best, ML/AI should augment the reality of that human process, not replace it.
November 16, 2025 at 9:26 PM
That requires time, training, practice, and eventually the application of.

There is no hack to acquiring human knowledge.
November 16, 2025 at 9:23 PM
What might have started as a way to appear at the top of Any Given SERP page to inform Any Given Human about $Thing, has turned into $Up$elling Any Given Human on $Thing && has confused relevancy w/truth.
November 16, 2025 at 9:21 PM
It is also rough being the only outlier in the room.
November 16, 2025 at 9:16 PM
In more recent times, Yours Truly was in some of those rooms/involved in discussions to ensure $Thing appeared as close to First! as possible.

I bear some responsibility for contributing to the current enshittification.
November 16, 2025 at 9:10 PM
BUT...

Humans started to de-center themselves/their experiences && started to do $Things to/for Any Given Algorithm.
November 16, 2025 at 9:07 PM
I'm not sure what sparked/the timing of any collective shift.*

* = I could crawl down some rabbit holes until I'm Yak Shaving, but I don't want to be distracted rn.

Before ML/AI broke academic/human inquiry containment, it reflected how well we were doing maths + limitations of our then-current silicon + how we might iterate specific methods/models + assist with visualizing data collection.

We were tinkering with this stuff BiTD/pre-internet.
November 16, 2025 at 8:58 PM
HOWEVER...

I can raise the question of whether $Thing is helpful or harmful && who checked the work on/towards $Thing to ensure more of one than the other.
November 16, 2025 at 8:47 PM
Humans build things or use tools to do things they might not be able to do easily or on their own.

I don't know about you, but we're absolutely adorable when we discover a thing or do a thing for the first time.

I can't necessarily fault anyone for wanting to do a thing first.
November 16, 2025 at 8:43 PM
I will continue to liken the building of Endless Data Centers to There Are No Trees in Mordor.

I will continue to holler that, pound for pound, a human being possesses more computing power than all of that put together, for less energy cost.

Plus humans have the ability to make syncretic leaps.

You Have Forgotten the Faces of Your Fathers.
November 16, 2025 at 8:33 PM
(This next part is difficult.)
November 16, 2025 at 8:29 PM
When I zoom out, the enshittification isn't limited to just ML/AI and/or conflicting ideas about Augmented Reality.

When I zoom in, there is the human being, what any given one does/produces, && what binds us together + what makes an instance unique.

MOVING ON...

Yours Truly wasn't exactly quiet when These Faces were showing off their toys.

Folks who've invested an awful lot of money don't like to hear "Cool Story, Bro! But the Value is All in Your Head."
