Artist my hand, by heart, by head. Haunted and skill-hungry, will spend my entire sum of hours practicing and studying the Great Arts.

A blend of the Magician, the Star, and the Chariot, with too many swords cards piercing through.

Queer faggotry
As a kid, I was often misgendered "GIRL!"

As an adult, I'm told I'm not a real MAN

And y'all out here trying to say you don't understand pronouns?

Is it because you prefer to use them as a weapon against queerness?

Another from a series - Devotion - I love the distortion from the transfer process

I still really love this image from a series developed in 2020 - an exploration of Devotion.

Everything was captured in camera, no post effects, and I printed the image onto transfer film, which was then transferred onto archive paper

Hey artists, tell me your art rituals! What do you do to align yourself to your practice? To bring yourself to your studio time? To prep your brain and hands and hearts?

practice.

My head: "but you've been practising so long people will wonder why you're still making mistakes"

My heart: "how great that you can see your mistakes so clearly! Take note and keep practicing"

My hand: "whaddayamean mistake? That dull line IS the sweeping gesture you ordered"

I'm 40 tomorrow.

The world has changed so much in 4 decades. The pendulum is swinging hard, our early dreams of an optimistic global culture animated by internet & technology are crumbling at the hands of dummy-spitting elders who were meant to lead with care.

Hope exists locally.

T: western art education undercut artists in the west.

Expression & creativity were favoured over form & discipline.

I loved the liberating feeling of being in art class - it kept me in the arts - but trying to be a professional artist as an adult means I've redone my training from ground up.

I gathered the most accurate information and analysed it with a critical mind and steeped it through a body of wisdom and massaged it with a refined artistry of words.

I spoke those words into my air fryer.
