If Dems used power like Rs do in 2021 they would have strengthened the VRA, made DC a state, expanded the Court, wiped out student loans and medical debt, and passed the biggest job creating infrastructure package since the New Deal. Rs would be crying about how Dems "bought" a permanent majority.

Does it still work even though there is a typo in "class?"

True. The books made the characters more likable. The movie focused on plot, which was necessarily thin. Lost a bit of the charm.

Then it absolutely captured the spirit of the books.

I've long felt that they are TP-ublicans. Quarter-ply.

How many people need to adopt Linux before it gets native support for Office, Adobe, etc.? 10% maybe? Same for hardware manufacturers automatically writing Linux drivers.

It can't hit 10% without those basic things and won't get those things until it hits 10%. That's been the story for decades.

This is absolutely correct in a "chicken or egg" way. As much as I hate to admit it, for me the litmus test is "can it run Microsoft Office?"

Are there great alternatives? Sure. Can I hand in work to my boss that I've written with one of them and be 100% sure the formatting is right? No.

I suppose this is the appropriate response to the Musk types who insist that population collapse is the greatest threat to society.

They're wrong regardless, but instead of shitting out a dozen kids we're too hateful to parent we could just plan for AI to fill the gaps. Isn't that what they want?

Honestly, the only harm Bernie did to her campaign was saying he didn't care about her damn emails. Had he pushed on the emails it all would have been fully exposed in February and voters would have been bored of it by November, i.e. exactly what happened with every Trump primary scandal.
November 14, 2025 at 6:44 PM
Because for the first time ever having a primary was irreparably damaging to the nominee? Because in America we have coronations instead of elections?

If your candidate can't get elected following their primary it is because they're a terrible candidate. Period.

This might be the first time I've seen him do something actually clever, i.e. look for something that is quietly improving on its own, complain that it is bad, and take credit for the improvements once you've drawn attention to it.

Leave Blaine alone! He has a garden party to attend.
November 8, 2025 at 6:13 PM
That and force the news to cover you fairly. Fox is gonna Fox, but the rest of the major media outlets still at least pretend to be truly fair and balanced. So call them out when they don't report Trump falling asleep at cabinet meetings. Call them out when they misrepresent Biden's economy.

It always has been.

They'd be insane to do it. They can pass a lot of the awful crap they want through reconciliation. Or just do nothing at all which they like too. The filibuster is mainly an impediment to Dems.

Of course everything Republicans do these days is nuts. So here's hoping. 🥂

I saw their Denver show on this tour and she's an absolute force. I feel lucky to have gotten to see them again.

Hard to believe that the guy who made a complete mess of everything the first time he was President is making a complete mess of things the second time he's President.
