Was it Dubya or Trump who said this - "No one knew you could fly planes into buildings"

It was Dubya. Looking back it seems his presidency really set the template for Trump.

Anyway. TIL about this incident where a guy flew a plane in to a Texas IRS building a year before 911

Met an Indian guy at the gym. We exchanged pleasantries and barely talked for a minute before he asks me my last name.

Bro why

About Queen's Gambit, the Netflix show -

I enjoyed the show but was disappointed to learn it was a work of fiction.

I know it's based on a book, but honestly, I'm quite that sure the lives of women grandmasters would make great film or TV even without fictionalization.

Our favorite vegan burger restaurant shutdown recently. The burgers were great but the place always had a burnt oil smell hanging around and it was a little bothersome.

So anyway, we decided to make vegan burgers at home today, but now the house smells of burnt oil

The wife went to Zakopane yesterday, and one of things she got from there was this.

It's just a caramel candy but it is orgasmic. It's like eating a crumbly caramel barfi filled with caramel.

Absolutely scrumptious.

In 2006 a high school English teacher asked students to write to a famous author & ask for advice.

KURT VONNEGUT - born 103yrs ago today - was the only one to respond.

His reply was a doozy.

A word on Team Mongolia. They are the most interesting team on Physical Asia.

Three typical athletes, and then a smallish MMA guy - the other MMA guys are big fellas, an ultra light carney - no one has a carney, and a heavy weight lady judoka - who may well be team MVP.

I think I'm Team Mongolia.

Watched the last episode of Physical Asia and the smartalec in me thinks the producers had set up a trap for the Aussies

A pretty simple one - a irresistibly high risk high reward task

Australia decided the risk was worth it. The other teams knew Australia would take the risk and played it safe

Why even wait until they finish school?

Just hire kids to clean the chimneys when they are old enough to walk.

So I've managed to do Cossack Squats after doing hip mobility exercises for about a month and it's blowing my mind.

Additionally, The resistance I'd feel in bending to pick stuff up has also disappeared.

Happily taking the extra W.

Dunno what's up with my IG feed but it's been non stop Indians hating on Zohran.

I can accept that my age bracket and interests in mma put me squarely in the far right recruitment zone. But why after he won and not before?

IT cell is slipping.

I know Indians are joking about how their parents will now compare them to Zohran because he's mayor of NYC, but we need to acknowledge that he tried his hand at being a rapper first.

So. What corporate America learnt from 2008, was that you can do whatever the fuck you want - as long as you make it the government's problem.

Hence, the chain of circular investment around Open AI.

And the reason I'm hearing the phrase 'too big to fail' again.

Rewatching Kill Bill 2 (I like Micheal Madsen a lot) and just remembered when some guy tried to pass off Bill's opinion on superman as his own.

Why even.

There was a significant amount of ritual, that I guess is to be expected in any Japanese cultural export. But I've always found that it's not for me.

Reminds me too much of organized religion, which I detest strongly but that's not a criticism of Kendo or Japan.
So I went to my first Kendo class today and it was pretty cool.

The sensei was this nice older gentleman, who was so invested and gentle that I just wanted to hug him and ask him to adopt me.
