This one happened to me the other day.
I was doing lore research because the actual Elden Ring had a tiny tip at the top in the first trailer of the game but then the design of the Elden Ring was retconned to have a flat arc at the top.

Maybe not quite as gleeful but Luca's massacre in Ryube village in Suikoden II remains one of the most upsetting, violent and cruel pieces of dialogue I've ever seen, without ever showing any overt gore.
To this day it still makes me shiver every single time.

Atelier used to be so firmly "for girls". But I can't get past the gooner designs in Ryza trilogy, despite liking the characters.
I'll give Yumia a chance but it's the last chance I'll give Atelier. If they're moving away from me as an audience, then I'll do the same.

Suikoden greatly influenced the Trails franchise -- not just in the way in which it focuses on geopolitics and a large cast of characters, but there's also a few little nods ingame!

The character designs ruined a bunch of otherwise really lovable and relatable characters in the Ryza trilogy for me as they were just straight male fanservice in a franchise very historically girly.
But I keep Falling For It™, so, OK. The designs aren't as bad as Ryza's, but nothing is that bad.

I definitely think if you have GP already, you should give it a go. It's a very pretty game and I'm enjoying the voice acting too. Interesting dialogue choices as well.

I'm always down for some Kotaro Uchikoshi murder mystery. The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy pulled me in with just the first cutscene. SRPG too!
I'm not a fan of Danganronpa but I trust Uchikoshi to make a death game story with a message and crazy plot twists along the way.

Even WITHIN species there's genetic variety. In Suikoden, Kobolds are actually just dog people. And so, there's as many subspecies of Kobold as real dogs.
