One of if not the best live action versions does have a Gaston, kind of, Cocteau's La Belle et la Bete (1946). Avenant/Gaston's a friend of Belle's brother who wants to marry her & Gaston's face is almost a caricature of Jean Marais the actor who portrayed Avenant. I Don't want his backstory either.

This post made me realise Disney has the ingredients for one of the greatest Christmas films of all time. The Santa Clause: Last Hunt which starts with a Predator claiming Santa's skull and goes from there.

Those films sound fun. I've seen some of Ernst Lubitsch's silent Weimar comedies and Viktor und Viktoria which also starred Renate Muller along with the great Anton Walbrook and enjoyed them.

Soothsayer is good but I recommend aiming for the haruspex subclass and that way you can get some nice meat on a semi-regular basis.

The answer is pretty simple, class solidarity. They may or may not have been committing sex crimes but the idea of the little people without power and money being able to destroy their peers' lives terrified them. It was sex crimes then but if they didn't undermine it their own crimes could be next.
