Alright, it's looking like the ultimate answer to "does Hundred Line really have 100 distinct endings?" is "mostly true", because the game's script is indeed a giant monster of very different routes and scenarios.

The review consensus is positive too, with a few rather minor caveats.

Baldur's Gate 3 was my most hyped game for 2023, Romancing Saga 2 remake was the one for 2024 and now...it's looking like it'll be Hundred Line for 2025.

For the record, the screenshots are from a Japanese web site listing media people labelled as "anti-Japanese", so I guess right-wingers hold a grudge. The controversy was also mentioned in other places...incidentally, this was also during a time when the global anti-Iraq war protests were recent.

Ultimately, it's telling that you don't really see right-wing Japanese embracing Code Geass per se, despite how huge the show was at its peak of popularity.
In fact, there was a minor controversy back in 2006, when the MBS TV producer made a comparison between CG Japan and how Korea was treated.

I know I've been an apologist for the adoption of 3D in modern anime, at least if it's employed reasonably well, but when it comes to an already existing story...you're usually going to lose something by switching to 3D, even if the original 2D character art isn't necessarily the most expressive.

There's only so many ways you can surprise anime fans who have been around the block.

Ultimately, it's the emotional experience that makes a difference, even if you may be able see a number of reveals coming. In that sense, I'm glad the Ever17 remake is going back to 2D artwork instead of 3D.

I'm glad that the remake of Romancing Saga 2 is getting such good reviews today. I was a big fan of the earlier release from 2016-2017.

If you can dig into the concept of playing as a whole line of succession with the emperors of your choosing, then I think you'll have a wonderful time!

Mind you, it's also true Lloyd worked best when he was acting as Suzaku's support staff along with Cecile.

Final Fantasy IV is my "I know there are better JRPGs, sure, but this one was my first/favorite".

I sold off most of my SNES games at fire sale prices, which was a mix of dumbness and desperation, but I couldn't bear to part with this one. Not while I can help it, at least.
