Lots of theories floating around but I think this simply boils down to Knapper thinking Wilshere will have us further up the table at the end of next season than JHT would have done. Now we wait and see #ncfc

I do wonder whether bringing in a big name like Wilshere as an assistant has somewhat undermined JHT/GR. Whether right or wrong players will automatically respect someone of Wilshere’s experience in the English game more than a couple of danish lads they’d not heard of last year #ncfc

VERY SHOCKED that #ncfc have sacked jht. What happened to the transition? The long term project? The patience? Terrible run but with two games left why sack him now. Knapper must fully believe jht is not going to improve things next season

Feels like the club is in a “broken up but still living with the ex” scenario until the end of the season. Disdain bubbling under the surface but there’s still a need to keep things civil until a resolution is met (the season ends) #ncfc

Calling for JHT’s head based on games where they’ve got nothing to play for isn’t for me. People moan about short-termism in football yet we’re told there’s a long term plan for the club and everyone wants the coach sacked in the first season. I will reserve judgement until next season #ncfc

We’re likely to finish exactly where everyone thought we would in the what was labelled a transition season from the start. The fact that we’ve flirted with the play offs is a positive to me #ncfc

Barnes and fassnacht barely played and probably on decent money so we’ve done well to offload them. I imagine Hanley will be the next one out #ncfc

Call me crazy but considering how much we struggled without Sargent last season and the fact that we’ve had to lose McLean for 8 games as well. I’d say there’s still a good chance for a play off push in the new year #ncfc
