a comic about tasty food (1/3)
Black and white comic with simple digital drawings. Text: When I was a kid I had a really bad appetite. Panel 1: Drawing of Pim as a kid at a table with food plates, holding a bowl of rice and a pair of chopsticks. Text: Nothing tasted very good and I could never finish a whole restaurant portion. Panel 2: Different types of food drifting down on a black background towards light. Includes a waffle, hot dog, broccoli... etc. Text: It wasn't until I was about 20 that it started to change. A steam achievement with a picture of a karaage onigiri that reads, "Achievement Unlocked! Tasty???" Panel 1: Pim sitting with a friend at a restaurant table eating. Pim has their eyes and mouth wide open in amazement as their friend smiles. Panel 2: Pim walking amongst a crowd eating a corn dog. Panel 3: They look at each other as square asks, "...Is that weird?" Panel 1: Triangle hesitates. Panel 2: Triangle replies, "...There was this one time I had a really bad sleep and then a super tiring day." Panel 3: Triangle standing in the darkness next to a stack books that reaches shoulder height. They are turned away with their palm slightly raised like they're looking at it. "It wasn't upsetting, exactly." Panel 4: Close-up on their shaking hand. "There was just still so much to do at the end of it." Panel 1-3: Triangle standing still and rubbing their eyes for a moment. Their expression can't be seen as they're turned away. "I remember just staring for a second while my brain fuzzed out." Panel 4: The background fades to white again. "And suddenly I just had this thought of incredible warmth."

I have no idea if this creator has a film background, but if not, they have an incredible eye for composition. This, and their other works, would actually be a great teaching tool for an editing/boarding/cinematography class. Clever camera angles, strong posing, and easy to follow despite quick cuts

Text: Before, there was always parents putting things in front of me and asking what I had. Text: After I dropped out I went home and things went back to normal. Text: I tried doing a pastry course for a while. Panel 1-6: Different steps in baking different things in the same panel layout, representing control. There is piping text onto a cake, cracking an egg, measuring flour, a tray of birds nest cookies... Pim eating a birds nest cookie.
