There is a lot I love about the work I get to do, but I particularly love getting to work with students on matters of vocational discernment, as they contemplate their gifts, skills, values and talents, looking for places where these might be used to help heal a wounded and hurting world.

I have the greatest joy to serve FedUp Ministries in Southeast Michigan. FedUp is a food truck, it’s part of the branch of the ELCA that we call mission development (that’s the term we Lutherans use for church planting).

I serve the church with Lutheran Advocacy Ministry in Pennsylvania (LAMPa), one of our denomination’s state public policy offices. I help people of faith live out their discipleship in the public square.

Rev. Rune Marie Nielsen was beyond excited to discover a favorite anime from her childhood, Rurouni Kenshin, was now available to stream. Rewatching the beloved series prompted her to reflect on what the characters in the show share with figures like Jesus and Paul.
