I write about video games. I curate video games. And yes, I do actually play video games. San Francisco. she/her.
Facebook keeps showing me reels of a shirtless Arthur Morgan doing random stuff. Can’t say I’m complaining about this algorithmic development.

Anyone need a +1 to the Game Awards?

Sorting out my car budget, and the current figures I have are "holy cow that's fucking expensive." In order for my muscle car to be worth ongoing costs I will need to make it my entire personality. Prepare yourselves as I lean into insufferableness.

I am so ready to initiate my midlife crisis. Does anyone have any advice for buying a used car? What do I look for that indicates a healthy, unproblematic vehicle? How can I tell if I’m getting a decent deal? How do loans/financing work?

I really really really want to read this book from Tiny Bookshop… but this also seems to be one of the few fictional books in the game? 😿

Tech dude, overheard in SF:

"I am so big on learning. I use an app that summarises books for me."

So, today I'm announcing a new book project... and doing a call for papers: crpgbook.wordpress.com/2025/10/31/t...

It's an anthology of video game history outside the usual US perspective - an accessible & exciting panorama of different realities - and I'll pay 300 USD per article.

Please share :)
The Video Game History Expansion Pack – Pitch your story
Today I’m putting my money where my mouth is and launching a new project — a book focused on game history outside of the usual North American perspectives.

“I like your costume!”
“Oh, it’s not a costume, I just look like this.”

Every. Halloween.

I had a very Red Dead road trip that I really want to share but the Bsky app won’t let me upload any photos. Instead imagine in your mind’s eye: Wild horses. 1900s ghost towns. A graveyard full of plague victims. Hella nature.

There are so many games I want to play and it’s giving me anxiety. Where do I begin? Our time on this earth is finite, and we have to make every second count. But what if a game doesn’t make the best use of my limited time? How will I know whether the game I choose will make my mortality worth it?

Just booked a Dodge Challenger for my road trip! Can't wait to be behind the wheel of a muscle car again, living my Katie-est life.

Looks promising! Love the aesthetic. I wish the cards were a little more interesting than streamers (and why are they all male streamers?), but I guess that's pretty genius from an influencer marketing POV.

We talk about the difficulties of weight loss all the time, but we don't discuss how hard it is to gain weight either. I've been working with a dietician without success, and apparently only reached my calorie goal once in the past week (at a dinner out with friends).

Omfg WHAT. PC PowerPlay was one of the first outlets I ever wrote for. David Wildgoose was an incredible editor, nurtured a team of amazing writers (not sure how I ended up there), shaped PCPP into one of the most insightful voices in games journalism. This sucks but I'm glad it survived this long.
RIP PC Powerplay. One of the greats, one of a clutch of Aussie mags that didn’t just make me want to write about games, but showed me Aussies could do it and succeed. Shattered to know it’s gone.
