We mustn't fall into the trap that nationalisation (Westminster centric operations) would fix all of our problems.

Public ownership via Decentralisation, Co-operatives, and more regional and local ownership would work far better.

Tbf, there's still a good number of representatives that, if taken for granted enough by Starmer, could permit Burnham to run if he chose to.

Now probably isn't the time, but Starmer has fewer friends than I first thought in that NEC representation.

Can you explain to me why your version of One Member, One Vote, is better than the Green Party's?

Huh, I guess she missed the memo

Yes...SOME will. So why's it mandatory?

If the government can prove digital IDs are more secure and cost effective than upgrading existing systems, fine. They haven't in this announcement. Where's the report with the evidence to back this up? We deserve to see that if this is to be mandatory.

If you streamline access for users, you streamline access for hackers too. That's my point. It's not like accessing your bank account which you do everyday. I don't need the convenience. So what's the point?

Government Gateway services (gov .uk login basically) use biometrics for voice recognition for some fraud prevention services, documents (biometric passport for example) and HMRC App sign in.

When requesting a new passport (as I did recently), it's used there too to scan your face.
September 26, 2025 at 10:30 AM
Biometrics are "safer" in that it's harder to decompose the data of your scan. You could still hack into the scan database and alter it, so you're locked out. I fail to see how a single ID is safer than the current Government Gateway platforms used, which use biometrics. So what's the point?

I'm not so thrilled at the idea of having one single attack point with all my IDs in it, from a cyber security perspective.

It's like having all your money in one bank. You can, even across different accounts. But that's irrelevant if the attack is at the wider bank level, not just your accounts.

Perhaps the Labour & Co-operative Party should promote Co-operative ownership models...

Point taken and I agree with it. But, the CEO is often just the face of the company. The problem lies with the board/owners. Let's not confuse "high earners" with "rich owners".

Where on this chart are "Digital IDs for everyone" 🕵️‍♂️
September 25, 2025 at 5:01 PM
So how much will this cost the tax payer in subsidies and electric vehicles, to trade off the extra emissions this creates???

So much for being the party of working people...
September 21, 2025 at 6:55 PM
If you choose unity over division, perhaps it would be smart to not air your dirty laundry all over social media, over a party that's supposed to bring unity?
September 20, 2025 at 10:19 AM
But you're labelled the "bigot" not listening to their "genuine concerns" for pointing all that out. Gimme a break! 🤦‍♂️
