For civil society to be safe the suburbs must die
You can literally just say things are bad and/or evil without having to have some pretense that they’re all tied to together by some vaguely defined pseudo-sociological force.

Like this is objectively irrational. It’s not even principled but imprudent because the principled position would both be advocating doing a lot more than just abstaining from voting it like y’a know a tax strike.

I mean you have no real practical theory of how to get to the preferred state of the world here your essentially saying

Step 1. Sell out civil rights and constitutional government at home

Step 2. ??????

Step 3. End global imperialism

you should not give any legitimacy to a system that permits genocide then you should be advocating and doing a whole lot more than mere electoral abstention (you should probably at least be advocating and doing a tax strike for instance).
November 21, 2025 at 1:03 PM
Because either a. even in the first scenario there’s still pretty good strategic reasons to prefer the less authoritarian party in power even if you’re ultimate goal is a revolutionary overthrow and b. if we’re going to make this a matter of principle then the principle that

Maybe so but unless you have a plan to make that happen or are at least willing to advocate that people do more than useless electoral abstentionism then there is simply no good reason to not vote for the lesser evil.

And a useful idiot for fascism

Ding dong you’re an illiterate idiot
November 21, 2025 at 12:50 AM
Even when these people are right in a general sense, they still have a child's understanding of foreign policy that causes them to be useful idiots for domestic fascism. They deserve no respect or presumption of dialogic legitimacy and should be quickly consigned to the dustbin of history.
November 20, 2025 at 7:03 PM
Are you willing to do a tax strike? Or mount a barricade? If not, then shut up. Grandstanding about electoral abstention and only electoral abstention is just being a useful idiot for fascism, that's it, there is no way to dignify this position. It is at its core childish and stupid.

Me when statistics on prison suicide don’t exist

than that alone is overwhelming reason to not have prisons even in absence of better answers to the problem of public safety.
November 17, 2025 at 12:33 AM
I would stop taking the medicine even if I didn’t have something else to take. Such is the case with prisons if they don’t actually solve the problem they’re intended to solve and also bring forth their own unique pathologies (some of which are contingent and some of which are inherent)
November 17, 2025 at 12:33 AM
Again please learn to read. The argument isn’t that these things can’t be increased or decreased! It’s that prison is probably not very decisive in the lowering of these thing especially vis a vis things like gene higher standards of living and changes in overall social mores.

I have and yes I still think I’d rather die than be in a gulag
November 16, 2025 at 3:29 AM
I sense a few days into the experience you wouldn’t say this
November 16, 2025 at 3:24 AM
any cursory glance at the stats on recidivism rates should show that there really is not.

nature) 5. A basic belief in human freedom and equality as morally important principles should make one predisposed to be skeptical of imprisonment so prison abolitionism is the position we should morally default to unless there’s a strong reason to do so otherwise which

tend to be a lot closer to gulags than to Scandinavian prisons 4. It’s just not true that stateless societies always end up like that (see medieval Iceland and the Indus valley civilization which importantly doesn’t mean these societies were utopias! Just that they were not hobbesian states of
