I am really going through it but this is a good place to do so.
An inlet/canal near the old Cedar Avenue bridge in mid-November. Lots of brown, the trees are bare, the sky is brilliant blue and reflected in the water.

Had a moment waiting for the bus tonight - Lyndale is all lit up for the holidays and I felt like that scene where the Grinch's heart grows three sizes.

To be clear - I still don't fuck with christmas. But the lights are real pretty.
The view northward from the bus stop at 31st & Lyndale. The sidewalk trees are all strung with white or yellow lights all aglow. There are dead leaves on the sidewalk and the lights are reflected prettily on the dark car parked at the curb.

New kitchen has handy storage for all of my important cooking tools.
The storage cubby and shelf next to the stove in my new kitchen. The cubby holds my wooden pepper mill and ceramic salt box. On the shelf below, there's a small handmade ceramic bowl full of good rocks and two Wusthof knives - a boning knife and a chef's knife.

Was doing a little stash management & hoping to find something interesting, which I did. A very squshy (and hard to photograph) cowl in two shades of pink. The cats decided there wasn't enough of their hair on it.

I don't think there's enough open water here for pelicans this year but I did see some excellent sky views.

Took me 45 minutes to peel and cut up that big orange one. The butternut will meet its fate another day.

Came across a trio of 50something people chilling on the old cedar bridge in the sun, absolutely living their best lives. They were also here for pelicans (none yet).

I pitched them on the cult of the forest goblin, it was an easy sale.

Naturally, am out in the woods about it.
A meadow at sunrise. It's in Reservoir Woods park, just east of the tunnel under Dale Street. The northern half of the meadow is lit by the sun coming up over the trees, the southern half and its shelter and bench are still shaded. It if frame to the south is a pond with waterfowl, turtles, and muskrat.

I visit this tree almost every time I go to Reservoir Woods. It's always the right choice. I still wonder if a door will appear in it someday.
My view up into the crown of Minnesota's largest butternut tree, located in Reservoir Woods Park. It is brilliantly green and most likely full of developing nuts.

The fragrance of wetlands cooling after a hot day has me painfully homesick for the Fish Creek Slough.
Late evening view northeast off the old Cedar Avenue bridge - grassy wetland around deeper flowing water. There is an egret hunting, I watched it catch two fish! It is absolutely beautiful and smells like a hot swamp (positive connotation) Sky view northeast from the bridge maybe 40 minutes later. There's a cool cloud spanning the center third of the frame.
