That's mostly the marketing, but while things like Facebook bring people to violence and possible civil war, TikTok just makes them kind of vain and phone-obsessed. Both are bad but one is much worse.

I suspect the crawls are solely based upon set data like keywords, "trigger words," etc, and the non-generative AI is the big sell here (hopefully it'll stay that way). In terms of how the AI system was initially trained/developed, there's a HUGE market for actual humans doing that right now.
