Even looking past the generic as hell box arts, the way they handled the releases did NOT do it any favors

I think that there are valid concerns when huge breakout indies release at a low price that many others can't afford to sell their games at but I don't think it's a net negative. As I play Evil Egg I think back to a younger me and how this game will do it too, for someone else

It's cool

Fast forward 7 years, I'm on TIGsource somehow as a teenager and keep up with indie games. Spelunky is released and I've stumbled upon Nethack as well and both games were free. At this point it was over for me, I LOVED Roguelikes. Cheap/Free indie games are how people become inundated in them

Delightful

The colors and the silhouette, not to mention the sprites on the GBC were just really good, it's a big part of what made me into a dragon quest fan, just another testament to how powerful Toriyama was for the series overall
