Not that I'm really in circles where I would personally discuss this I've noticed a weird phenomenon where people are like, very sensitive about and holding on dearly to straight ships as if they are under siege or something

I think it would be really fun designing and making an RPG, but looking around and seeing the all timer designs definitely makes it intimidating

In 2001 Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 would be released a young Y4RS would find himself playing it, it was like Pokemon after all

in Evil Egg you move around and shoot bad guys while saving good guys, kinda Robotron-y, except it was designed as if it fucking hates you
So when you get around everything and blast all the enemies you feel like a BEAST, this video doesn't do it justice and this is still early (flashing lights)

I'm early on in DQ1 but I will say the additional reverence for Erdrick's legacy as well as additional NPCs really does freshen up the game in a way that feels natural

There's a lot of things I don't really remember clearly as my first encounters with media but the reason I'm so attached to Hargon was because I looked up monsters in DQM2 and in the boss monsters saw this silly looking blue man, the idea that such a fun design was a powerful boss was appealing

The gameboy color sprites for the Dragon Quest games that appeared on it are super underrated
One of the things that really got me into DQ to begin with was Dragon Quest Monsters 2 on the GBC which featured beautiful colored sprites and walk sprites for EVERY monster

A really cool thing about Dragon Quest 2 back on the famicom was that the overworld music changed as your party increased. There's a song for one, somewhat melancholic, a song for two, the adventure beginning, and then finally three when the triumphant heroes all meet.
