I knew this word. I learned it from Meshuggah’s album “Nothing” that came with the artwork containing the word for “Nothing” in many languages.

Watched one of my best films, Aliens (1986) for the first time in ~5 years. Always superb but this time I felt so much influence it gave to the SF genre, for me especially StarCraft. Many references, most obviously the design for the Zerg race from Xenomorphs and for SCV from the power loaders.

Bought a self-published book of the strategy and analysis for the board game Splendor. I still have a lot to learn about this game as I’m around 300 ELO on BGA.

Snarky Puppy rules! It was my 4th time seeing them live (Tokyo, Yokohama, Dublin, Yokohama). Large numbers of members and plenty of interplay and improvisation but sounds never “difficult” but full of groove and entirely joyous. Chatting with a gentleman from US on the next seat was also quite fun.

Sharpened my knives for the first time after moving to my new home. I use Shapton’s 刃の黒幕 whetstone series which translates to “Mastermind of Blades”; what a cool name.
