Staff... will be employed by this entity, not the university. The central purpose is for executives to.. hire staff on inferior terms and conditions."

This is a very basic and absolutely essential point that virtually nobody, even within the university, ever raises. We’re on the brink of a massive loss of disciplinary skills and knowledge — a loss that we are, by and large, choosing, without even discussing it as anything more than a market shift.
I'm very concerned that some rare skills will become even rarer. I appreciate that people think that there might be more important things to do than study rare topics, but once the knowledge goes, it goes. /6
