"Any players who request to play or are submitted to play in our league will be reviewed through the lens of our values and inclusion, and a determination will be made based on our practice, which is our policy."

What does that even MEAN?
Will Berman choose on case-by case basis?

There are sound reasons some African nations may oppose sex-verification testing in FIFA and the IOC, some related to corruption (prestige and awards for any "winning" program), and some related to mixed attitudes about "intersex" 5ARD males.

Consanguinity and poor diagnosis exacerbate 5ARD issues.

Approximately nine currently signed players fit the criteria for suspected 5ARD males: Chawinga, Banda, Kundananji, Chanda, Chilufya, Nyamekye, Okwuchukwu, Abiodun and Lacho.

Each is from the CAF sub-confederation, signed since 2024.

Universal testing @FIFA could end all conjecture and suspicion.
November 24, 2025 at 4:55 PM
With a $3.5 million salary cap and $500,000+ salaries for suspected 5ARD male players such as Chawinga, Banda and Kundananji, approximately 15% of total salary for at least three teams is going to suspected 5ARD male players.

Every dollar spent on such 5ARD males is taken from 20-25 female players.

NWSL commissioner Berman discusses sex-verification at www.nytimes.com/athletic/682..., archive.ph/UR02Y:

“Our policy is our current practice.”

Pay no attention to the 5ARD men very much in front of the curtain.
November 24, 2025 at 3:02 PM
So good to see a female MVP!
November 23, 2025 at 3:35 AM
And quite possibly yet another 5ARD male.
November 23, 2025 at 1:29 AM
Watch THIS dude, especially, as they have all the markers for a suspected 5ARD player @nwslsoccer.com
November 23, 2025 at 1:28 AM
Koassi's first goal for Washington fits the classic 5ARD male pattern we have seen with Chawinga and Banda before:

That sprinting breakaway tactic is VERY common among 5ARD male players @NWSL.

The fastest way out I see for Berman is a quiet deal among owners to (a) spread the cost of (b) not renewing current 5ARD male players' contracts, (c) distributed among all teams for the next several years.

Waiting on the IOC or FIFA to solve this for NWSL via CONCACAF would take longer.
November 12, 2025 at 5:11 PM
Is Berman hoping she can bluff this out long enough for these males to cycle out of their current contracts?

Is she hoping that IOC or FIFA will institute global sex-verification to save her these dangers?

www.seattletimes.com/sports/reign...

The league has dug itself a huge hole here, a grave?
November 12, 2025 at 3:15 PM
Is the league punting on this because they have opened themselves up to lawsuits from female players AND the 5ARD males that they have already allowed in?

www.seattletimes.com/sports/reign...

Do they plan to punt if sued before then, by claiming they did not understand?
November 10, 2025 at 2:26 AM
Jessica Berman is a mendacious coward and we know full well what "the science" says.

Ask World Rugby, World Aquatics, World Athletics and World Boxing why they went back to sex-verification for the female category

Male bodies have no place in female sport, whether 5ARD male or otherwise.
November 10, 2025 at 1:11 AM
End the stigma!
November 6, 2025 at 4:34 AM
Any MWSL "mostly" women's soccer league will fail, because real fans don't want to see male bodies colonizing female sport.
November 5, 2025 at 11:17 PM
Your boys are out with adductor groin injuries, and a MOSTLY Women's Soccer League will fail.
November 5, 2025 at 11:15 PM
How common are adductor injuries in the NWSL?

How is it that both Banda and Chemwa may be out for the playoffs with adductor injuries?

Aren't adductor issues usually a MALE problem?

How might their trainers have missed this?

This sort of blatant misdirection is not going to age as well as Elizabeth Eddy's courage.

Suspected 5ARD males took seven of fifteen key slots for most shots and goals for the 2025 NWSL season.

This is AFTER two 5ARD players were top scorers in 2024, taking the Golden Boot from Sophia Smith.

This year they took it from Esther González, and it is still foul.
November 3, 2025 at 3:43 AM
"Other players that were affected by the gender eligibility rules included Racheal Kundanji who plies her trade at Spanish side Madrid CFF, Racheal Nachula from Zaragoza CFF in Spain and skipper Barbra Banda who were all disqualified."

How is it racist when a very few Zambian players were previously disqualified by African CAF, screening only African teams for their African WAFCON tournament?

There are reasons 5ARD (and classification errors on birth certificates) are more common in Africa, but not "racism" or "transphobia."
October 31, 2025 at 6:25 PM
Yearly cheek swabs and PCR tests for all players could easily flag any male players for additional screening, theparadoxinstitute.org/watch/sex-sc....

Delaying that measure creates tension around deception.

Any female can easily prove their sex with a single and simple, PCR "cheek swab" test.
October 31, 2025 at 5:46 PM
None of this has EVER been about "trans" anything, but protecting the female category, with major concern after the Rio Olympics 800m debacle of 2016, when ALL medalists on the "women's" platform were 5ARD males.

Imane Khelif is another, more recent example.
October 31, 2025 at 5:26 PM
Can we please have honest discussion of sex-verification in female sport, in light of Elizabeth Eddy's piece in the NY Post?

For DECADES the Olympics verified female athletes with a cheek swab, and screening all athletes protects the category discreetly.

Does NWSL even HAVE a way to exclude males?
