It’s Erika Kirk’s birthday today, and I hope and pray that these words of Charlie’s help give her comfort and healing. 💔🙏

I hope Trump will tell the reflexively anti-immigration crowd to stop it more and more as time goes on.

The reflexively anti-immigration crowd has been leading the charge despite Trump not liking it for a while, and their reflexively anti-immigration agenda has been a disaster.

Trump realizes that it doesn’t make America great to be reflexively anti-immigration, and so he’s pushing back on the anti foreign students and anti H-1B visas malarkey.

Will he have the courage to override the agenda of the super anti immigrant folks though?

He’s caved to them before:

“You have no idea the damage you did by talking to him and complimenting
him. You are making even bigger.

We've been fighting this guy for 6 years

And you are the first main steam voice to debate and give him a compliment.

Which then makes him bigger and more powerful.”

We seem to be back to you seeming to define tyranny pretty narrowly.

Majorities/pluralities do sometimes vote for policies and politicians that create “a situation in which someone or something controls how you are able to live, in an unfair way”

Majorities/ pluralities sometimes vote for tyranny.

Spouses don’t always agree with each other about everything.

Also, Charlie said some things that I’d say were racist, but he also fought against racism and racists.

Van Jones has said racist things too, but him and Charlie having said some racist things doesn’t make me think that they’re racists.

Your definition of tyranny is overly narrow.

Tyranny is sometimes used as broadly as meaning “a situation in which someone or something controls how you are able to live, in an unfair way”

Tyranny includes slavery, banning gay marriage, bombing non-combatants, deporting peaceful people, etc.

This makes me think about how most on the right would feel about a Dem president sending the military onto our streets to use tear gas and more against our communities.

The “What if Obama had done this?” question is appropriate.

The Trump administration should reverse course.

Unity is not always a good thing.

It’s like if someone wanted me to unify with LPNH. I’d say no thanks.

What is popular vs. what is principled.

Principle is indeed more important than what’s popular.

This is why I try to look at everything through the lens of the NAP.

Would a certain policy give explicit permission to the government to initiate aggression? If so, I oppose it.

Unlike you, I’ve spoken out against the evil things that Jay Jones said and I’ve spoken out against the evil things that some Young Republicans said.

I also called for Jay Jones and for those Young Republicans to resign.

It makes zero sense that you’re refusing to condemn both.
October 17, 2025 at 3:10 AM
Yup.

Of course many partisan political activists on all sides of the political spectrum will pretty much always figure out ways to argue that a condemnation of something bad isn’t sufficient, but to simply never condemn anything bad in response to that is crazy/self-destructive.
October 17, 2025 at 12:52 AM
Sad indeed.

Even the Young Republicans and state GOP accounts that I’ve seen aren’t just doing pathetic whataboutism in regards to this scandal.

Disgraceful and troubling words by Vance.

Multiple things can be bad at once, and both can be condemned.

must immediately resign from all
positions within their state and local
Young Republican organizations.”

I’m actually agnostic, though I do like a lot of what the Good Book says.

I think his faith was sincere but that he was wrong about some important things.

There are lots of disagreements among Christians, and I think that’s one reason why some see Pope Leo saying good things and like Catholicism.

The same polling group had him doing about 5 points better before the texts became public.
October 14, 2025 at 5:21 PM
Anything can still happen in regards to how the voting will go, but the polling clearly suggests that voters didn’t just brush off what was said in those texts, and the apology that was issued wasn’t enough to convince them that someone who sent those texts should be AG.

We’re talking about the government regulating talk therapy.

I don’t want the government to do that, and I’ve already explained how it might someday be used against therapists who want to affirm a kid’s stated gender identity.

Scientific consensus can be wrong.

Here’s one that was extremely wrong:
