Also, Penguins going from a weak goaltending to Silovs, Murashov duo looks promising for them.

I enjoy how Arturs Silovs situation unfolded. First, Canucks MGMT got exposed again. Second, just happy for Arturs, good kid and a great goalie.

Last years I was bragging about coaching a team competing for best positions in a table. This year the story starts with a team battling most probably for not being relegated. Top teams are supposed to steam roll us as our pre season game showed (2:7 goals and 2:14 chances in 45-min game).

Yet I find myself in the same place trying to promote my work over and over again when the time to promote myself should have been way in the past. That is why it is annoying. Sorry for my rant. I need it from a decade to decade. 😀
I have been trying to get into hockey for past 10 years with only limited success knowing I could bring positive and effective value to processes and decisions. Instead clubs are using 20-80% of data potential.
Not gonna lie, it is so annoying trying to get into hockey unsuccesfully as a data analyst in Europe when you hear how clubs are doing things using data - relying on software, goalie coach doing data, analyst who does not do research so statistical significance is not accounted for.

So I do data in floorball and coach my team for pennies. The research helps me to know which data to track, collect and evaluate. The analysis helps to optimize our team performance. I´ve had a tremendeous success with this winning two trophies as an underdog team in past 4 years.

Charles Leclerc pole position in F1
Something to watch for tomorrow 👀

Garland is a 1st line winger for the Canucks and the best option to play with Pettersson.
It's an oversimplification but does show the way Garland can help elevate players at 5-on-5.

NHL teams will draft 5 goalie projects in first two rounds in the draft.
When a goalie is developing well he gets traded for a mid round pick.
These are the rules.
Vancouver has traded Arturs Silovs to Pittsburgh for Chase Stillman and a 2027 4th round pick. #Canucks #LetsGoPens #NHL

Wow, they did it!!!

Congrats to the Abbotsford Canucks, Manny Malhotra, staff and players.
The 2025 Calder Cup Finals are set to begin.

Charlotte with 57% chance of lifting the trophy. The regular season team level data model performs really well so far.

Checkers with a strong defense and Canucks with a strong offense. Who wins?

Ferrari did not pit them?!!!

That's Vasily Podkolzin right there. In the Stanley Cup final. Being significant for his team.

NHL Round last is here. Florida as a slight favourite based on the regular season team level model with data adjusted for both regular season and play-off performances. Most likely simulated outcome is Florida in 6.

First underdog series were won in the West in round 2. Both Texas and Abbotsord managed to win game 5s at away rinks and will meet in the conference finals. Eastern conference finals should be very close.

Switzerland has a super strong tournament so far and is therefore a team to beat in the finals. USA ride currently the hottest streak at the tournament at the moment and only fool would count them out. I expect a great game for the gold.
May 24, 2025 at 8:25 PM
Sweden is expected to get the Bronze tomorrow but 25% chance for Denmark does not look that bad. Sweden streak is also currently under average so who knows. Still most metrics play for the home team tomorrow.
May 24, 2025 at 8:21 PM
Interesting match up for the second semifinal. Sweden is expected to get better goaltending and USA should have a hard time yielding and scoring from power-plays. If USA can display their offense though we have a game!
