In 2024, I had a bright outlook for the future.
Today, pure evil is razing all of it to the ground.

Supporting 🏳️‍🌈🇪🇺🇨🇦🇺🇦🇵🇸 & trying to salvage 🇺🇸
Except at protests, I like to wear a shemagh around my head to protect from the sun.

I wore it while doing a little pew-pew today. Right-wing people assume that everyone who enjoys pew-pew is also right-wing.

One came to me and joked, "What are you, Antifa?"

Yes, bitch. I am Antifa.

The solution to bigotry has been right under our noses this whole time:

More bigotry

Oh, I remember why I stopped checking this app:
The ubiquitous, bigotrous, sanctimonious generalizations that people outside of this country are making about the people inside it.

I’m finding it increasingly hard to report anything delivered by “official sources” in the US. Could be true, could be a coverup, could be completely made up for nefarious ends.

It’s a country now where no one really has any idea what’s actually going on.

Every single day, "Imagine if Bid—"
Stop.
"But imagine if Oba—"
No. Just stop. It's a meaningless comment to make at this point.

Literally no other president in US history would have gotten away with any of the several impeachable crimes that we've seen every single week.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

I keep seeing regular Americans taking more risks every day to fight tyranny, want, and cynicism than I see from the opposition party, and I imagine many of those regular Americans are asking themselves what the value proposition of such an opposition party is, really

I'm just not going to have health insurance, I guess.
Things keep getting better and better.

While it's reassuring to see community efforts to help people with the SNAP situation, I don't set it as being sustainable.

If only there were some broad, systemic means to extend that same aid without demanding focused effort from individual members of the community...

When it happens, you're probably not even going to learn about it directly before you feel it in the air. You'll just hear car horns and cheering in the streets. You'll feel confused, annoyed. You'll check your phone. Huh, 41 new texts.

Some are mad because people are on SNAP and not working.

I’m mad because people are on SNAP even though they are working.

Iran-Contra would barely have made the news. Headlines would have been, "President cleverly sidesteps Congress in genius move"
Any objections about unconstitutionality or treason would just have been ignored.

In my neighborhood, a preschool that put up a solid metal fence in front of the building in order to keep out the wandering army of addicts from drug dens in apartments across the street (which TPD allows to exist).

I'm really excited about what'll happen when struggling people get more desperate.

I'm convinced that the majority of voters believe we're in "politics as usual" territory.
Are we?
Has it ever been the case that POTUS has been so openly hostile to the American people and the Constitution?
Impeachable offenses happen with such frequency as to have been normalized.

People who oppose "socialism" think that they oppose handouts. They don't realize that they're opposing living in a stable society.

I asked my mother what she thought about the SNAP situation. Her response: "The Democrats are the ones making SNAP get cut!"
Not what I asked.

A year ago, there were signs like
"Great Pumpkin = Safety | Harris = Crime"

First, Lord Marmalade is a convicted felon, so that's ironic.

Also, his destruction of economic security will only lead to more crime.

Cutting SNAP? Property crime is going to surge.

I feel bad because I know there were people who expected me to recognize them.
I promise I would have, except I really can't see very well in that mask.

This will probably prove to be a bad day to swap my white cloak for a dark one; it's going to be really hot. Even so, I think it's appropriate.

Instead of lashing out in response to people, who clearly don't understand history, model the kind of critical thinking and intellectual engagement that you want to see.

Obviously, though, it's going to be hot.
It is summer, after all.
