all blistered palms, gasoline vapor aura, spitting grit from my teeth, clay red dust devil wrangler from the purple mountain bad lands of New Mexico.

Couldn’t sleep took a drive into the city;a spiderweb with dew drops that shimmer in moonlight. These are some photos I took.

Ski trip in Nuevo Mexico. I don’t like to spot light this because I don’t want what happened to Colorado to happen here, but damn it was beautiful and amazing.

When the sky is too heavy it falls. It’s silent it’s spectacular it’s cold just like the cosmos is over our blue dot made of mud and water.

On my way to get a rig on the road, it’s two tires popped between Santa Fe and Bernalillo and a caught a glimpse of grace.

We are sitting in a park by the bar. Your head on my lap, I am staring out to Christmas lights as gems cut out the dark heart of a lonely mountain. dragons dream of these moments; buzzing, slight scent of liquor, RnB out the stereo, two hearts pulsing like lava slowly solidifying into farm land.

The doors to a nunnery at the church I go to. The church was built when the country was only thirteen colonies and the Spanish were the dominant European people here.

Like hip hop, a disenfranchised group took bits of an American industry and re imagined it and made it their own. Low riders is more American then apple pie, Chicano have lived on the continent longer then America itself, our Spanish half 10 years before Plymouth Rock, the native half even longer.

Gran Quivera.
Blessed and cursed to live near the ruins of ancient civilization older than the nation. This is the American version of a castle on a hill. A reminder of stolen dignity wounds scabbed over and echoes that never stop screaming

Masculinity, the blood on your hands and in them; the ghosts of fathers and the ghosts you made or knew or know. It is passion or aggression the space between both only a trail of ants squeeze through, heading to eat on your hands. Masculinity will eat you, better to own it and build your colony

I bleed brakes. The fluid spurted out over broken concrete like a wound. Caked in soot and grit I got beers and tacos. The waitress I knew in high school, more bloated now but so am I. I’ll see her later, tonight I walk out in the cold splendor following Luminarias like a magi, hurt hands full belly

I understand and support the idea is secularism for our nation, however the majority of the nation is religious in one way or another. Chavez started organizing in Catholic Churches, MLK was a reverend. I want a populist left movement and religion should be embraced not marginalized.

Eating at Tia Lupe, little dinner at the edge, where red mesas, yucca, and nopal go on and on and on till the blue sky condenses it into a hazy line on the horizon. Order the red chile always, it taste like as epic as that desert.
