I woke up to a chestnut and cream color horse eating some weeds around the spigot near my bedroom window. I went out, walked up to the horse, put my hand on its neck. The heat of it and its deep breathing was a miracle. I left it there near my trailer when I went to work. I came home, it was gone.

My gloves got covered in black gore from a bleeding motor. The oil seeped through the leather, I got my hands covered in it.
It’s been the coldest January recorded. It was the hottest summer last summer and next summer it will be the hottest.
I wash my hands, I still have some oil on them.

the explosions woke me up, couldn’t breath, I could feel the rifle strap cutting into my shoulder bone, smell the gun smoke, feel the ripple of an ied, taste grit from a haboo, some private was watching porn, and clear as day Sgt. —— had half of him burned in a smoking humvee. Fucking fireworks.
