JWST imaged Westerlund 1 (W1) Oct 4, and it looks like the start of an 80s disco filmclip!
W1 is impressive! Filled with young massive stars that are ticking timebombs - within 40 million years there's expected to be ~1500 supernovae!

I'm not a great fan of open star clusters, but yesterday I spent some time imaging h and chi Persei, and it was fun! Choosing that target was more of an accident, though. The sky was supposed to cloud over again quickly, so I didn't want to start with one of my other projects. Thread: 1/ 🧪🔭
