Does it really matter?
A word I have not read except in books about fascism during WWII: quisling. Sadly, it’s making a comeback. Use it wisely.
Anyone who accepts a Kennedy Center award at this point is a quisling to be shunned. No one with any self-respect would even attend this ceremony. I would hope that whatever TV network broadcasts these awards would get the lowest ratings imaginable.

Good quote but not attributed to Mark Twain. Started on Twitter in 2012 (according to Snopes) and other great Twainisms are also false according to Reuters.

Survivors of domestic abuse often struggle to leave their abusers if they are forced to abandon their pets.

Now, in the latest attack on domestic violence services, Republicans are hoping to eliminate a program that helps shelters support survivors' pets.

I’d say this is a bit naive. Protests to stop the genocide in Gaza, for women’s productive rights, anti fascist and supporting LGBTQ+ rights are being met with brutal police violence and arrests all over the “Western world.” This is the rich of the world trying to control the masses, Trump or no.
"The democratic Western world is not following Trump’s lead; it continues to furiously resist him."

OK, this is wild.

In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them.

It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*.

What the HELL?
