Trying to get a good picture of this beast of a ceanothus is tough. This is a South Coast Blue hybrid discovered by Greg Rubin. It’s billed as a tall narrow species that stays 6 feet wide, but mine has… not been that. Mine is much more sprawling and wide.

Trying to get a good picture of this beast of a ceanothus is tough. This is a South Coast Blue hybrid discovered by Greg Rubin. It’s billed as a tall narrow species that stays 6 feet wide, but mine has… not been that. Mine is much more sprawling and wide.

Many of us learned this bird as the Cape Petrel but now it goes by the name Pintado Petrel. Some birders prefer QR code Petrel. By any name they're striking seabirds that love to visit ships to make sure their beauty is easy to observe. At sea west of South Georgia 🪶🦑
