Greatest truth I've found in age is that excellence costs a price extracted in pain, not imbued by grace. A knife to be sharpened cannot meet its inferior or malleable to be honed. It's going to remove a part of you to become a blade that can cut. It's not going to be fair. Drawing blood never is.
