I hate playing modern or militaristic civs in Civ7 because I hate war. Civ6’s warmongers stressed me out
But I figured out the mechanics well enough on the bigger maps that I don’t mind playing Modern Era much anymore. Plus, it’s been nice to see how far my civ has come through the ages
