attempted a hike well out of my ability as an attempt to see the aurora recently, which while i did not even get to the point where you could see the north sky clearly, still got to see a very pretty glow and my partners camera caught quite a bit of it ^^

my favorite pictures from the trip arent the best quality unfortunately, but i still love them

havent posted outside pictures in a while and somewhat recently found probably my favorite place up here lol, so unbelievably pretty with so much to do
a rough skinned newt on some dead leaves and moss a shiny bumpy black newt with green eyes and a reddish orange underside is in the center of the photo, with orangey brown leaf litter filling the rest of the frame, with small spots of green moss showing through a very still lake reflecting very tall trees almost perfectly the picture is almost a perfect horizontal mirror of tall evergreen trees on the shore of a lake and a steep hill on the left covered in browning ferns, the sky is blue with very slight whisps of clouds in the distance behind the tree tops. the lake reflects everything upside down just barely darker sunset through the clouds with a silhouette of the distant mountains a picture from a very high point of the sunset through lots of whispy clouds over the mountains and valleys surrounding it. there is a singular tree to the left of the sun disappearing into the lower silhouette, the sky is blue and orange with whisps of white and grey clouds a photo of mt hood in the sunset mt hood is in the distance with snow across its peak with other closer mountain ridges and peaks in the foreground, getting darker as they get closer to the camera. the sky is blue near the top of the photo but orange for most of the view, with a couple whispy clouds barely visible. mt hood and the further away ridges and peaks have a blue haze over them with orange highlights from the sun

went on a hike today and trail driving for a while cause the route i wanted to take was blocked by a logging op and saw so many cool asf mushrooms. i unfortunately wont be able to ID them since i dont know much and also am colorblind, but they were damn pretty
a large fallen tree cut flat, covered in leafy mosses and small prange and white round mushrooms on the left and center of the photo, a mossy curved pathway lined with large ferns on the right and in the background a long banana slug on some small round orange mushrooms in the center of the photo, surrounding them is smaller orange mushrooms and mosses on some very decayed tree bark a large mushroom with a dark red stem, cream colored spongey appearing gills, and a bumpy shiny red top in the center of the photo. there are bare branches around it and scattered throughout the picture, and the ground is covered in bright green mosses and ferns two large dark purple mushrooms with bumpy tops, one smaller with a flatter top in the center of the photo and a taller one with a rounder top to the right of it. there are some bright red round berries near the right one, and there are bare branches behind them, the ground is covered in bright green mosses and ferns

i dont have much in the form of bug facts i dont think you would already know, but i do have pictures of butterflies i see out and about all the time and always take pictures of !
a butterfly we couldnt quite identify, most likely a subspecies of summer azure, on a pile of loose wood bark a lightly fluffy white to light blue butterfly with its wings together held up with black spots scattered around the underside and black and white striped antennae on very dry darker wood bark, with chunks of dried wood and more bark behind it another image of the first probably azure, this time showing its wings better, resting on a pine tree a lightly fluffy white to light blue butterfly with its wings together upwards showing black spots scattered around the undersides, with black and white striped antennae, resting on a very bright green pine tree between the needles in the center of the photo. there are more branches and needles of the pine tree in the background and some spots showing the bright blue sky out of focus in the background a very bright meadow fritillary butterfly on an arnica flower (i think) a very bright orange butterfly with black spots and stripes on its wings and a slightly fuzzy darker body on a very bright yellow flower with a fuzzy light green stem in the center of the photo, with out of focus flower petals and leaves in the background (probably) a common checkered skipper butterfly on weathered concrete a fuzzy grey-ish blue bodied butterfly with warm black wings with white spots and edges in the center of the image, backed by slightly colorful gravel embedded in worn down concrete, there is an out of focus raised section at the bottom of the image

i love planning a 7.6 mile 1600ft elevation gain hike and coming home after a 9 mile 1900ft elevation gain hike and no more bones because they melted out of my flesh and became one with the sand and gravel, pretty at least! i will suffer the consequences 5ever but worth it maybe
a picture of mt rainier and little tahoma in the distance with tall evergreens and golden grasses in the foreground and framing the sides. the sky is bright blue and the emmons glacier is reflecting it in the shadows a wide angle picture from above the mt freemont fire lookout tower with the cascades in the distance, obscured by smoke from the many wildfires currently ongoing. the rocks the tower stands on and in the foreground are very light grey with some orange tinted dirt along the trail up to the building a picture looking down into a valley at the bottom of the emmons glacier, the river coming from it, and a very blue lake from the glacial silt, the base of little tahoma is in the back behind the river and lake, and the foreground is full of trees and sticks the trail closed marker and $5000 fee for going on the trail anyways warning that killed me and stole my lunch money. the signs read "closed. do not enter. for public safety and to protect park resources. by order of superintendent 36 CFR 105. violators subject to 6 months imprisonment and $5000.00 fine", "no hiking" with a hiker crossed out, a repeat of the first sign, "area under 24 hour video surveillance", and another no hiking sign, they are held up on a string tied between two tall stick cones and have a barrel cone behind the string and signs labeled roads. a clear gravel trail is behind it lined with small gold and red plants and smaller evergreen trees.

idk i feel like the art i enjoy making is getting me shit on at best recently, probably gonna go back to traditional art and only showing people close to me, less disappointment that way i guess
a semi realistic skeleton on it's knees leaning back into a C shape with its mouth open and arms out, there is a gold line going through its ribcage, into the bottom of its skull, and out the top with lines spraying out the exit to imply force. the skeleton is mildly obscured with a cyan, yellow, and magenta overlay around it, the background is dark grey with red writing over it saying "they will never stop" in all caps over and over, going from small at the top of the picture and very large at the bottom

i feel like "bad" pictures of the moon are better most of the time than ones you can see anything at this point, like when its super bright or hitting clouds just right vs the same detailed picture a bunch of people take every day

Snoqualmie falls doing their thing picture is taken from the cliffside (viewing platform) looking down at a very long waterfall crashing into the rocks and river below at sunset. on the left is a sheer rock face with some moss spotted over it, curving out and across the picture to the waterfall in the middle, then past on the right side of the picture above the river. the right side of the cliffs has dense foliage all over the top of it which fills out the top edge of the photo, the river the waterfall is coming from goes up along the plants and to a building with a lot more windows than a regular building, but the cliff top on the left hides the full building from view a bald eagle on some gnarly ass driftwood at Rialto beach a very dark photo taken from very far away so it is a little grainy, there is a large pile of tree trunks thrown from the ocean gathered around the bottom of the photo, two large ones are angled up diagonally from the bottom right to the center of the photo. the one on the left is much higher than the right and is more separated from the large pile of wood, and on the top end of it there is a bald eagle resting. behind the wood and eagle is a gravelly beach with some grasses and vegetation, made hard to see with how dark it is, and there is a solid wall of dark trees behind there. very bright day at lake Cherub (?) on the tin mine/Davis loop trail. i (lovingly) call this the newt lake cause its so full of the little guys and we'll spend hours looking at them swim around a very bright picture of a very reflective lake from the lakeside. there is a few tree branches on the right side of the photo in front of the lake and a long log in the water going from the right to left side of the picture. on the other side of the lake are large trees brightly lit by the sun with shorter vegetation going from their bases to the lake. the lake is a near perfect mirror of those trees and the lightly cloudly bright blue sky, a few dead branches and old trees coming out of the water in the distance. unfortunately no visible newts in this one, the reflection hides them well another picture from the tin mine/Davis loop of the wetlands a picture taken from a shaded trail through a clearing of a very brightly lit wetland. there is a singular tree in the middle foreground further out into the vegetation and one tree on the right side of the photo. past those is what appears to be a solid field or meadow full of green plants, but it's actually closer to a lake. on the other side of the clearing are tall darker lit trees lining the visible edge across the whole photo, above them is a bright blue sky with small poofy clouds

a large dam in the north Cascades picture is taken from a roadside along a valley, there are trees all over the mountains on both the right and left, the right has cleared stripes along the mountain though for multiple large power lines. in the center of the valley, near the leftish middle of the picture, there is a tall concrete dam with very high, reflective water behind it. there are some mountains further in the distance behind the dam, and there are thick slightly darker clouds covering the sky, the blue is only barely visible far in the distance Diablo lake from the roadside. picture taken by a pine tree, slightly blocking the left side of the picture with branches. there are some trees further away lining the bottom of the picture, behind them is a ridiculously blue lake. the lake stretches from beyond the left side of the photo up to the middle, and goes into the distance behind a slope covered in trees. there are a couple mountains in the distance obscured by trees and the clouds, which are covering nearly the whole sky with only a small sliver of blue sky visible in the distance picture taken of Blue lake on a misty and overcast day picture is taken from a steep lakeside, small trees in front on the right bottom side of the picture. behind them is an incredibly clear reflective lake with a large log on the bottom. on the other side of the lake there are some tall evergreens going up a small slope with some clear paths going through them. behind there on the right of the photo of a tall rocky slope with a long thin snowbank running along a gravely base. the sky is bright but completely overcast a mountain goat on the Blue lake trail picture is taken from a hill top, some tree tops are visible in the foreground. behind them is a rocky white slope with vegetation only on the top side of it, there are large tall trees on the left side near a lakeside which is barely visible in the bottom left corner. there is a large clearing in the trees with a dirt path, and a large white mountain goat is walking along it. to the right of the clearing and paths are done some smaller trees, filling the rest of the photo

sorry i took so long to share these, but there will be more (: I'll try not to share too many similar pictures or of the same place, but i did have a clear favorite hike
sunset at Barclay lake with Baring mountain on the left. picture is a wide angle shot from a lakeside at sunset, the lake is still and very reflective, and is surrounded by tall evergreens on the left side, behind the trees is a tall, steep mountain reaching the top of the picture with its peak slightly obscured by clouds. the sky is bright blue with a few wispy clouds and it turns golden near the bottom right corner, where the sunset barely shines through more distant trees. the top right is covered by the silhouette of some tree branches Heather Meadows on a surprisingly warm day the picture is taken from near the top of a small mountain on a very steep trail. there is a red slope with sparce vegetation and snow on the left in the foreground. behind there is a slightly steeper slope leading down to a currently dry creek with dense greenery and some trees in the bottom right corner of the picture. behind there is another mountaintop in the distance, much greyer in color with dark green patches of trees and vegetation and snow near the peak. behind there is a few steep sharp mountain peaks on the horizon with much more snow and less visible details. the sky is full of puffy cumulous clouds with bright blue patches visible through them another picture from Heather Meadows from a much more popular trail this picture is taken from a small clearing in the trees, bright green trees of multiple types frame the bottom, left, and right sides of this photo. there is a clearing through them with only two taller evergreens blocking the view of a distant mountain ridge, covered in snow near the peaks and in a large sloped valley. there are large puffy cumulous clouds above the mountains with bright blue sky showing through behind them a picture of a lake i can not find a name for from a place you should absolutely not try and get pictures from in Heather Meadows. not a safe spot, taken while we were lost cause alltrails tries to kill me sometimes (cant afford a reliable alternative atm) and i wanted to at least get a good picture if i had to deal with trying to find the real trail again picture is taken from really high up, there is winding gravel road splitting into walking trails on the right bottom of the picture with some small snow patches. to the left of the road, there is a large dark blue lake, which gets wider further left and has bright orange shallow water spikes on its left shore. there are large patches of snow to the left surrounding the lake slightly. behind the lake is a small mountain top with a large gravel slide down its left side and patches of thick trees and vegetation around it. in the far distance on the right there is more mountain tops slightly obscured by mist and clouds. the sky is full of puffy clouds, a little bit of bright blue sky poking through

having a terrible day so i doodled my lil guys for the first time in a hot minute, happy pride month yall

got to indulge in the incredible low tide today (: such a bright day my pictures look yassified lmao
a bright purple ochre sea star (i think) gripping onto a rotten wood pillar, there are a couple tiny spiral shelled snails to the left of it, and plenty of barnacles underneath it a very nice isopod on an algae covered rock. the isopod is mostly grey with light brown/tan speckles and legs, an iridescent shine, really thick antennae, and cute little eyes. the algae is on is mostly brown with a little bit of red near the bottom of the picture a red rock crab in some seagrass with one claw extended. they are covered in sand and a little bit of seaweed, but not enough to be as hidden as they thought they were an orange cup anemone (i think?) glistening in the sun in a very shallow pool of water full of algae and seaweed branches. the anemone is bright orange and contrasts incredibly with the brown seaweed and blue reflections in the water
