One of the neat things with the iPhone 17 Pro Max is I think this is the first iPhone where the iOS Camera app can get any texture when taking a picture of the moon. It’s not great, but it isn’t a blinding white dot.

Well, it’s completely cloudy today, but here’s a picture of the moon I took Friday night, taken with my iPhone 16 Pro Max using the Adobe Project Indigo app. Technically “unfiltered” unless you count picking white balance settings that best matched what I saw.

Adobe released a camera app for iPhone that’s supposed to take better pictures than the built-in camera app and supports “super resolution” to take more detailed pictures when zoomed. Let’s compare: default iPhone on left, Adobe’s Project Indigo on right.

I hadn’t intended to get up for the lunar eclipse, but sometimes you wake up at 3:00 in the morning and notice that the cloudy skies weren’t cloudy in the direction of the moon.
