Revisiting the notes on an in-progress project, and it reminds me why I dislike implementing maths papers sometimes. It should be required to provide code if you use "simple"

> "simple cepstral smoothing" is a loaded term. Maybe the authors should elaborate on what they consider simple smoothing.

Wechat and now line. Why is every Asian chat app appalling. Unable to link a foreign number to my account and I end up banned by an automated system as a result. This is ignoring the UI design being very unfamiliar, it's just impossible to use as a foreigner

Made an inaturalist account to identify more animals I see while rice farming. Quite happy that some users already identified some of the animals. Hopefully, I'll managed to get pics of dragonflies and birds of prey - but they've been too fast so far. My account: www.inaturalist.org/observations...

And 2 days later another release with big speedups. This time less being an idiot but using memoization to avoid searching a list for the right profile entry. For projects that bring in a lot of coverage counters this will result in big speedups (polars gets 20x faster) github.com/xd009642/tar...
