The new aesthetic of fascism thrives on our lack of visual literacy. Its visual grammar is idealized strength, purity, unity in our populist and nationalist imagery. Its power lies in treating imagery as if it were outside morality. When imagery abandons ethics, media becomes complicit propaganda.
