My thoughts on : The Boy and The Heron / mini review. 1/4

Regardless of the story or performances, a Studio Ghibli film will always manage to give me a feeling of magic and intrigue that so many other films fail to deliver. The boy and the heron is no different, even though it does have the darkest

Made it 20 minutes into Megalopolis and had to save it for a different night.

It’s amazing to me how I can like a film for being so different from what’s out today, but despise it because of what it is and how it’s shot…

🧵1/3 - Wicked Review:

Ariana grande looked like the only actor having fun with her roll, and got the most laughs out of me.

Sound mixing and sound design were shockingly bad for a musical; vocals blew out instrumentals, and action sounds didn’t have nearly enough force behind them.

Twitters ragebait algorithm never ceases to amaze. Just seen someone claim piracy hurts the below-the-line production staff more than it does the executives and above-the-line workers who make the most from box office numbers.

Just finished “The Nice Guys” and I don’t think it can be understated how much of an emotional impact the “You will never be happy” motif has.
A film that perfectly blends its comedic and dramatic beats, with a cast directed to some of their best performances.

Looking for likeminded folk in this barren wasteland before the twitterheads immigrate with gambling ads so here goes:

- Film and cinema
- DND / WH40K (TTRPG)
- photography
- comics ( Marvel / DC / Image )

Always wanted to do media analysis, but that’s a buzz word. Self proclaimed “comic enthusiast and film auteur” might be less pretentious.

I’ve never really played the “social media” game before. May as well give it a go on something from the ground up.
