backfill In the adage about the first 90% of a project taking 90% of the time, then the remaining 10% taking another 90%, this was the first 90%. Getting data from the millions of repos into the AppView is (was?) understood as the missing piece in self-hosting Bluesky from end to end. It was nontrivial!
