Harrowing but helpful: When it comes to disasters like the Los Angeles fires and evacuations, “The public needs to understand that whatever planning & services are in place that do exist have almost certainly not considered a myriad of disabled people’s needs.”

Your local government isn't ready to evacuate disabled people
California's fire-prone counties left people to die. Other communities don't have to.

Long before T. rex, tyrannosaurs were fluffy little nerds. Like this friend, Dilong paradoxus. They were a turkey-sized tyrannosauroid that lived about 125 million years ago. There are older tyrannosauroids, but Dilong is a great example of what the famous group was like early in its history. 🧪

Are you acquainted with "You, Too, Can Speak Gaelic," one of the all-time great Isaac Asimov science essays, one explaining chemical nomenclature, during the course of which he deploys one of the all-time great Asimov anecdotes?

"Of course! It's dactylic tetrameter!" is only one minor highlight.
