Ostensibly I am running a mech TTRPG, so of course today's session was about meeting a bug person who serves as the nexus for their species shared subjectivity (very fun to play!) and my players characters' imbiding in a substance that allowed them to experience a glimpse of that.

Something that struck me in reading some of Peter J. Carrol's writing is the idea that even agnostics almost always have a model. I've considered myself model agnostic, so...gonna spend some time figuring out what my model actually is, resolve any apparent incongruities, and test it out.

Likely to be snowed in today and tomorrow. Plans right now are prep for my TTRPG games and further magickal reading and notetaking.

Setting aside some time for some spellwork, however small, as well.

Struggled with this one a bit between "fangs" and "herd", but the underlying meaning is the same: safety in numbers.

Sometimes I have my doubts, and then I remember the spell a friend taught mr that has a very high very clear success rate.

We're talking doing this spell to deal with student debt payment issues and a day later my wife getting the call that there was a mistake and to pay much less per month.

Hit >30 minutes for breath focused, motionless meditation today. Still need to work on clearing my mind, but had some good results there too.

It feels good to be getting back into the fundamentals. I tend to rush towards the big work, but this feels more useful and sustainable.

Regrowth, possibility. A bare branch promises returning leaves.

Good meeting with the coven this week. Intended to talk about moon magic, but both of our experts were out; seems to be a running theme with me experiencing a disconnect with the moon.

Okay but I bet you could develop a decent warding system based off the principles of the survivability onion.

At some point I need to rant about discernment if just because refining it sooner would have saved me some heartaches and headaches.

Long story short I don't care how compelling someone's system is narratively or logically or philosophically, it needs results.

Random thoughts on divination: friends newly getting into tarot sometimes ask me what various symbols mean. And it always feels weird to answer, because to me, the revelation lies in the interpretation.

Before I post much else here, I feel it important to acknowledge @junestrings.bsky.social, who has been a huge influence on my practice and also just in general.

I'm beginning to move in my own direction with things, but absolutely would not be here without her.

Focusing on fundamentals for the next while. Meditation, setting aside time for daily practice (focus on sigil work and ongoing development of personal glyphs). Reading, notetaking, better record keeping.

I've been fairly sloppy with my practice, and want to start fixing that.
