Some pondering on current social and political climate. 1. A current symptom of the disease is the tendency of the opposition to vote anti-self-interest. 2. Another is desire to 'win' in the sense of one-up-manship of others. At the root of both of those is cynicism.

Post holiday Star Wars consumption was delayed by a day. My daughter got hit by a car yesterday, in Oakland. Broken arm and busted up leg. She can't catch a break.

I complain about the holidays, because I'm not overly concerned with getting stuff. I have 6 kids and 3 grandkids and I'm 51, as wealth goes I hit the jackpot. The consumerism gets to me. Yet, I am an avid comic collector - I know those two don't compute. What can I say, I contain multitudes
