In week 3 of her migration, #Deer665 traveled 40 miles from Boulder Lake across Big Sandy River to the Prospect Mountains. Big open working lands. Compared to last year, she is migrating 16 days later and taking 6 days less of stopover. #KnowYourCorridors

Legendary wildlife biologist George Schaller drew course maps of the Tibetan antelope migrations. Now a new generation of researchers are taking up the challenge to map and understand the threats and conservation opportunities for this important region.

Week 2 of tracking Deer 665's fall migration. She made a rather large movement during the first couple weeks of November. Many deer often stopover before leaving the foothills and heading south to winter range. Will be interesting to see if 665 does the same.

Love this from one of our bison camera collars. Scenes like this one would have been common across the American West 200 years ago, now rare. This one is from Yellowstone NP. In collaboration with the YNP Bison Study Team.

With the accumulation of snow in the high country, migration is starting all around the American West. Mule deer find their way to new destinations by staying together, being focused, overcoming obstacles, and putting one foot in front of the other.
